  • creating new layout in 0.3.0
Posted under General by Joe on Friday September 15 2000 @ 03:50PM EDT

I'm trying to add a new layout. I hit the layout in
the admin page and then I change the colors
or whatever. Then I type a new name into the
layout name text field and push add/update
and I'm getting some error message. Is there
a special way to change the layout and colors
    etc??

    Thanks much!

What's the error message? It may be permissions related. If so you need to chmod 777 backend/layouts/ or run the etc/fix_permissions.sh script thats included.

Thanks Jason! It was just the simple chmod 777. What a beautiful service you have here for the rest of the world. Thanks again and I'm spreading your word. Joe

Just checking. I got the admin page showing the changes. Then I hit view/load, but when I log out it reverts back to what was already there... hmmm.... any thoughts?

The layout manager only defines the layouts. You must go into site configuration and pick which layout is the default.

    Thanks bud.

Any idea why I wouldn't be able to access admin page after I enter a password. I end up on stories.php with no admin access... Hmmm...
