Move formcheck.js outside of the inc.d directory

In order to to keep other users on my hosting co's web server from accessing my account and reading the MySQL password from the common.inc.php file, I set permissions so that only my username can access that directory. Now, that works ok for executing PHP code (as I am running PHP4 as php-cgiwrap under my own userid), but of course the formcheck.inc cannot be accessed from the browser when linked to in the HTML source.
Suggestion: either move the formcheck.js outside of the inc.d directory, OR move the password/server data into a separate inc.d file within a subdir of inc.d which one can then "lock"...
Is this making sense, or are my poor Unix skills just confusing me? ; )

This makes sense and I hadn't really thought of the problems of other local users seeing your config.inc.php. The best solution here is to probably move the userform.inc.js into the base dir.
If you do this, you can find the html part that calls it at the top of inc.d/header.inc.php.
