Well yes, this needs to be noted somewhere.

When you upgrade to 0.5.3 (CVS/unstable), it will attempt to move all your existing pages into the new T_Pages table.

This will only happen if you have Display set to Y. In other words, if your pages are turned off, they will not be transferred.

What is the reasoning for this design choice? I suspect many people are going to get jumped by this. Is there a reason that simply converting over EVERYTHING would be a Bad Idea?

Not flaming, just very curious. I have a stable .5.2 system, and I hvae been waiting for .5.3 to get stable, and the add-on's to catch up.

0.5.3 introduces a new T_Pages table to keep blocks and pages in seperate tables. The 0.5.3 upgrade script converts all pages (which are stored in T_Blocks table in 0.5.2) to the new T_Pages table. The only indicator that the content is a page is Display = 'p', so this is what the script looks for.

Like Romarin said, you'll need to make sure all your pages have Display set to Page (p) before you upgrade.

I try the upgrade in my dev site. You have to set all your pages to 'Y' before applying the patch.
Gaudior, what addons are you waiting for ?

I am using the guest book, the calendar, and the hack to get phpBB to run inside the framework. I do not have the ability to test the CVS versions, so I am in a holding pattern, until there is a proper .5.3 release.

GuestBook and Calendar are ok, I think that phpBB too. ...
