Are you allowed to use the tag in stories!??

Yep. You just have to set it up in admin to allow html in stories. My site has images in stories all the time. I just use the img tag.

I'm using 0.5.3 version, i don't find the option of allowing html in stories, does anyone knows if there's another way?

I'm using 0.5.2 and it seems that if you change the default option "HTML Parse Level" in Story control panel to "Allow full HTML- ..." the tag works now in the stories.
You can do the same thing to allow full HTML in in the comments by changing the option "HTML Parse Level (comments)".

In the init.inc.php the first thing is a list of HTML-tags that are allowed in stories. Simply add there and everything works fine.
