    Most important:

I had posted on this earlier and Jason replied with thoughts. None panned out.

The email function within phpweblog IS NOT working at all for me.

Email a user, share the story with a friend...none of em.

My box DOES has PHP mail working (I think) correctly on it.

I use Vbulletin and the mailing from within it works fine. I have run serveral php mail test scripts to make sure that it sends ok and it does.

Here is an example of a php mail script that works fine from that box.

    PHP Mail Tester

This is driving me nutz! I recently installed the newest release of PHPWeblog at work for our support team for server issues to log and document them. When a story is posted, I NEED it to be automatically emailed to a email group I setup on our mail servers. And yes, I have the new story email feature setup.

2ndly: When and if I can ever get the email to work from weblog, when someone replies to a story, is there is way to have it automatically send another email to that "group" I setup with any comments as well? Short of specifying that email addy as the posters email?

3rd :I might have just missed this one in the config, but is there a place to say "show posters email"? instead of "Your email will not be displayed publicly"?

4th: Are the button labels in the template scheme I am using or are they in a generic common file? Like the Tap tap's and the Yoink!?

Thanks. I know someone out there has to have an idea of why the email is not working.

Could someone perhaps send me a copy of their php.ini? Maybe I am missing something in mine that is specific to weblog.

    Matthew

1st: is there anything in the error.log? If mail command fails, it should report the reason in logs/error.log.

2nd: this feature would require a hack to include/common.inc.php in the F_mailThread(). Simply hardcoding a second email address would not be hard.

3rd: good suggestion, i'll add this to the TODO

4th: they are defined in your language file (ie: backend/language/engligh.lng)

    ...
phpWebLog was developed under the default php.ini included with PHP.
