I am trying to install pgpWebLog on my page, but canâ€™t get trough http://mydomain.fo/admin
Every time I try, I get this message:

Warning: fopen("/home/users/public_html/backend/layouts/.xlay","r") - No such file or directory in /home/users/public_html/include/layout.inc.php on line 330

Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/users/public_html/include/layout.inc.php:330) in /home/users/public_html/include/common.inc.php on line 398

If anybody out there can help me, you are more than welcome!
Also I know the possibility to use the supplied fix_permissions.sh script located in the etc/directory, but I donâ€™t know how to use it.
Talking about permissions, I use WS_FTP. Thanks!

Hi everybody out there!

I was hoping for an answer on my terrible phpWebLog 0.5.1 pre 6 installation, but still there are none.

Meanwhile I tried to install phpWebLog 0.5.1 in stead of phpWebLog 0.5.1 pre 6, and now I am getting this result when I try to login to http://www.nsi.fo/admin :

Warning: fopen("/home/users/w3_1169/backend/layouts/.xlay","r") - No such file or directory in /home/users/w3-1169/include/layout.inc.php on line 321
ERROR! Could not write to /home/users/w3-1169/logs/error.log
Be sure permissions are correct. Run the included fix_permissions.sh script.

And if I try to login on http://www.nsi.fo/admin/index.php, I get this information/error message:

I still donâ€™t know how to run the included fix_permissions.sh script, but some help would be wonderful!!!

The situation is that I once got phpWebLog up and running on another server, but now I canâ€™t remember if it gave me the same problem at that time, as I am struggling now...

phpWebLog is the only php-solution that satisfy my needs for a good and dynamic homepage, so I really need some help here!

P.S. I am not so experienced in php and MySQL, but that shouldâ€™t be a problem, as I understand...

Looks like it doesn't know which layout to load. Did you populate your database with defaults first?

the tables.sql and data.sql scripts need to be imported into your phpWebLog database before it will work.

The only thing i did with the database, was to import tables.sql into it via MyPHPAdmin.
When I tried to import data.sql, I get a SQL-error.

So I have obvisiously not populated it with defaults, because all the tables are in the database, but their record value is 0.

When you say that the tables.sql and data.sql scripts need to be imported into your phpWebLog database before it will work, I almost give up because I donâ€™tknow so much about php and MySQL.

And my only way to find out is to ask my stupid questions on the phpWebLog-site...

What did you use to import the tables.sql? If you are using phpMyAdmin, there is a problem with using it to start up this site. I would suggest re-running the tables.sql and then edit the data.sql before running it. You will need to find all the cases where there is a ' in a text field and remove it. For some reason, the way my web host was set up, any time a single quote was used caused an error. Once you get the database populated with the defaults, it should work find. Oh, I would go back to pre6 as well. Sounds like your problem was with the import to begin with.

Hi! My problem is solved. It was the '-thing, Brian mentioned above. Iâ€™ve got my webhost to fix the data.sql file, and now my highly beloved phpWebLog is up and runnin!!! Thanks to you all!
