  • Big bug in links catagory edit's
Posted under General by tennet on Sunday March 25 2001 @ 08:09PM EST
I just spend some time in organizing my links into some samblance of order by playing each in their closest related catagories that I created.. the Problem is that they all vanish.<br>
I tried to hack at the links.php, but all I did wad mad a big hole. So I restore the links.php and fired up phpMyAdmin. <br>
I tried to insert null into the CatRid in T_Links Table, but that did'nt work. After various other attemps, I found that the following works:<br>
    (1)Delete field CatRid from the T_Links Table<br>
(2)Insert the field CatRid back into the the T_Links Table with the null attribute set to Yes and the Default attribute set to null. <p>
This will get back the disconnected links, but this bug will have to be fixed or Catagories function removed.

Rid can be any number, just not null.

The links system is all screwed up.. I need a solution.
    ...hence the new poll

I'm hoping once Mocha releases his code with a new modular structure, I can look into making modules to interface with other standalone packages such as a bulletin board or links system.

    Mocha? Still alive?

I am definatly looking forward to the user section part of the new code mocha is working on. My website is getting over 50,000 hits per day and it would be nice to have user accounts. And a nice Links section.

The CatRid value must be null or it can't find any links. The default value when the link is added for the CatRid is null.

wow 50,000 hits. That must be some box that's running your site.

Ryan how large is your database, and does people posts a lots of stuff? Do you use load blancing? etc. etc. etc. Please tell me.
