  • Creating linkable pages
Posted under General by August on Saturday March 10 2001 @ 07:14PM EST
I'd like to create some pages that don't show up anywhere, not under features or in the top bar, but that I can link to with a href in story postings etc. Feel like I am missing something obvious.

    It's pretty easy actually...
All you need to do is create a new "page" (which puts it in the top bar) and then edit the page and turn it "off" (that removes it from the bar). You can then link to it with "/pages_page_PageTitle.html".

I just found this out last night and utilised it at http://www.ppcsg.org . It works GREAT!

And that is a mighty find feature :)

But how can one do the same thing, when one wanna' create pages that should only be allowed to be viewed by administrators!???

Just go create a couple of pages, make sure they are only available through php-auth and away you go. Just check for the login vars, 0 if not logged in, and 1 if logged in.
