  • title of phpweblog.org

You know, I was setting up a web site that needed a web log at http://www.XXXXXXXX.org/. It had to be in PHP,
and it was clear that the two best programs where phpweblog and geeklog.

I ended up eliminating phpweblog from the running because of the title "phpWebLog - web news management with
tits." Unlike some people, I have friends who are women, and I'd just be too embarassed to make a link to a
page that has a title like that...

like women, phpweblog can *change it's mind* about what it calls itself. all you have to do is change the site configuration. unlike most women (*sniker*), it's rather easy to do (via the web interface).

*note to self* don't reply to messages when i've not slept much in 48 hours.

That's the FIRST thing I changed, when I started setting up my Church site :-)

Do you ever get the feeling that some people NEED a reason to compalin about stuff?

But what if you have friends who are geeks?

Uninterestingly enough, I also have friends that are women. I would find it more candid than embarassing.

The problem is the bottom bit of any other phpweblog always points back to the main phpweblog page.

its embarasing in a commercial organisation to link back to the source of a product you use that makes such statements, even if you are able to change your own.

that's a good point. how about you put a link back to phpweblog but have a disclaimer that your version comes without tits?

all kidding aside, maybe jason would consider making a few changes to the default website to give it a G rating. how about changing 'tits' to breasts? that may be more politically correct.

on the plus side, i'm sure phpweblog get more than enough search engine results with people searching for other things besides a weblog.

in the mean time, if you or your organization use phpweblog and wish to provide a link back to it, while feeling uneasy about the tits etc, just say that you support opensource software.

    you know,

my girlfriend is a total feminist (sometimes I even wonder how come she has a boyfriend at all).

And, although she very respects my work, visiting this website I would be considered as a dirty-minded b...rd-programmer...

please, get a bit serious... some women get really offended by seeing such a slogan on a usual software.

BTW: does PHPBitch.com know about you guys?
