Does anyone know of a free webhosting service that provides PHP and mySQL support so I can run phpWebLog on it?

You might as well go for a cheap host so you at least know how they're being funded. I don't know anyone that clicks on popup ads... I'll occasionally help with a micropayment curtosy click if the banner is on the page, but never popup. Two cheap hosts off the top of my head are phpwebhosting and csoft... $10 a month (2-3 trips to McDonalds).

NO!! I had to go through the Better Business Bureau to get a refund from phpwebhosting. CSOFT gave me my money back, but they suck. :) Their support is nonexistant, and you are better off going to someone like VHosting.com and paying $9.95/mo and getting 100MB, 4GB monthly xfer, 10 POP3, FTP, CGI, PHP 4.0.2, Mod_Perl, Mysql, etc etc. :)

Alright, I'll admit I had trouble with cosft in the past, but I haven't in a long time (however I don't have anything critical or important on my cosft acct). I am always very happy to fork out $29 a month to pair.com for their webmaster account. Sure it's a big place, but my server has a 282 day uptime, their support is reasonable, they just started up their "pair2000" administration script which is pretty cool, and I have had no problems at all.

Also a pretty good FREE one with PHP and
    MySQL is http://freedom2surf.net

    (or fs2.com)

BUT... if you want real good (paying) service I
also would highly recommend Pair hosting...
    they are EXCELLENT!!

I'm using Netfronts (www.netfronts.com). They run about $10 a month for the Lite package, you get Mysql and PHP access and stats collection and other stuff. They are slightly behind on a few of the latest versions (still using PHP3, despite what their web page says) but they assure me it will be upgraded shortly.

I am using FreedomtoSurf for my weblog. PHP4, MySQL, and phpWeblog is running fine, minus some nagging bugs.
